Vered Koren
Born in Kibbutz Kfar Masaryk, lives and works in Tel Aviv-Jaffa
Koren’s practice spans painting, sculpture, video, and installation, often merging traditional artistic mediums with ready-mades and ubiquitous, mass-produced materials. This interplay gives rise to works that are both materially dense and conceptually layered.
Drawing from cultural iconography, orientalist fantasies, rituals, local lore, and popular imagery, Koren constructs intricate, labor-intensive compositions that position the viewer within a space of dissonance—where the sacred brushes up against the profane, tradition collides with kitsch, and mysticism folds into fantasy.
Koren holds a B.Ed.F.A from HaMidrasha – Faculty of Arts, Beit Berl College, and graduated the post-graduate program of the Academy of Media Arts (KHM), Cologne, Germany.
