A tribute to the layered civilizations embedded in the urban fabric of Tel Aviv–Jaffa. This textured drawing features fragments of archaeological findings suspended in space, detached from any clear context. The forms are based on historical archaeological sketches discovered by artist Lia Tzigler in a long-lost folder that once served Chaya Kaplan — used by her for drawing and research. Kaplan was the wife of archaeologist Jacob Kaplan, who was responsible for most of the major excavations in the city.
