The artist's statement: "The photograph shows a figure caught between attempts at floating and the pangs of drowning, and in a V of victory she holds a circular photograph of water above the waves of the sea. Using a filmed performative action, I attempted to separate a wave from an ocean, through which I wonder about the human need to catalog, separate, and measure the continuous and constantly emerging flow of existence, just as one cannot enter the same river twice, not even once."
