From a series of works dealing with the journey of explorer Henry Morton Stanley and his assistant Klulu. Many of Vered Koren's works deal with migration, alienation, and the mixing of cultural symbols and their repositioning in space, so that a new meaning is imprinted on them. The fascination with the "other" alongside the attempt to place it within familiar patterns, shaped and led to what we know today as the popular representation of the discovery of new lands and worlds.
